Air District hits Chevron Richmond refinery for $146,000
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has settled its case with Chevron Refinery in Richmond for $146,000 after saying the refinery released pollutants into the air. The civil penalty settlement covers 22 notices of violation issued by the Air District for incidents that took place between 2012 and 2014.

Fairfield courthouse receives state preservation award

Brown signs Wolk olive oil ‘truth in labeling’ bill
Gov. Jerry Brown has signed Lois Wolk’s legislation that modifies state law concerning labeling of olive oils. Wolk, a Davis Democrat, is Benicia’s representative in the state Senate. She also is chairperson of the Agriculture Subcommittee on Olive Oil Production and Emerging Products.
