Assemblymember Susan Bonilla, the Concord Democrat who represents Benicia in the Assembly, has been appointed to the State Allocation Board, Speaker Tony G. Atkins said.
“I am honored to be appointed to the State Allocation Board,” Bonilla said.
The panel is made up of leaders in education and finance, and its duties include crafting policies and regulations to assure funding of school building construction.
The board meets monthly to apportion the remaining voter-approved California school construction bonds.
It also administers the state’s School Facility Program and the Emergency Repair Program, addresses policy issues brought up by California’s school districts, and hears school appeals.
Members are the directors of the state Finance and General Services departments, the superintendent of Public Instruction, three members each of the California Assembly and Senate, as well as one appointee named by the governor.
