Well, we are off and running thanks to your enthusiastic response to my first column.
Pets are everybody’s best friend. Carolyn told of the first night she brought her rescue dog Bo to her forever home. Bo was a little nervous, but after a few minutes she was running around with a ball in her mouth and bringing the ball back to Carolyn with a big smile on her face.
Ken from Vallejo shared that his favorite celebrity of the ’50s through ’90s was, you guessed it, the one and only Elvis Presley. Ken followed Elvis through his military days and well into his great history of rock and roll. If we can believe Ken, he says he saw the King live half a dozen times.
The request of a story about raising or helping raise a grandchild generated several responses. The general consensus was that each of you felt that you are probably better grandparents than maybe you were as parents. I am sure that we were as loving and fun parents in our younger years as well as we are grandparents today.
The Good Thought of the Day question also generated several responses. In these most troubling times that we are facing today, it is most important that each of us go out of our way every day to help a person in need in any way that we can.
Thank you for your contributions, and please let me know of any thought that you may have for our loyal readers.
