BENICIA – Arata Art Gallery has been given the green light to reopen with restrictions. In order to provide a safe environment for their visitors, the gallery is limiting the number of people who can visit concurrently to six at a time.
For now, Arata Art Gallery at 637 First St. will be open on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment on any day of the week by calling or texting (510) 432-5167.
“People who arrange an appointment will receive a personalized tour of the gallery and learn information about each artist and the history of their works,” said owner Geri Arata.
For those who are interested in viewing and purchasing the many retail items that they carry such as art prints, jewelry, or handcrafted wine glasses, the gallery is open for customers to browse.
“Please LOOK, do not touch,” said Arata. “And we, or course, are asking that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing while enjoying the art inside the gallery.”
Jim Leland’s oil paintings will be on exhibit May 28 – July 7. Everyone who visits the gallery and says “I came to see Jim Leland’s art,” will be entered into a drawing with a chance to win a $50 gift certificate at the end of the show.
No sale is too small. You can also shop online so please visit the gallery’s website at www.ArataArtGallery.com.
